Your character wakes up in a neat bedroom in their team carriage, in nondescript underwear. They might be missing their memories, or their special abilities, or they may just feel a little queasy. Next to them is what seems to be a smartphone, which they know how to use even if they never had before, even if they don't know if they have before. On the screen is a simple message:

Welcome aboard the Aurora!

You have been selected by the Star Prince as a potential hero, tasked with saving the universe from Malice. As a passenger I, your Construct and Conductor, will attempt to provide you with quality lodgings and safety. In return, we ask that you join your fellows in making bonds and doing your utmost to bring joy back to the Stars.

Due to the process of restoring your body, you may find some things are missing. We apologise for the inconvenience and hope to return them to you as soon as possible. Thank you for your cooperation.

Upon investigation, you'll find some basic clothes matching your team's theme in the storage provided in your room. Or, perhaps, you're wandering out of the room still undressed. Either way, downstairs you'll find someone has left a tray of cups of hot tea on the living room table. Drinking it may be simply pleasant, or it may cause you to feel a sudden need to warm up to the others in your carriage -- emotionally or physically. Welcome to the team, newbie!

Outside the train, a large, strangely spinning cube floats over a pedestal, hissing discordantly and shedding strange black light onto the surrounding area. Beyond lies only shadows and slithering noises, a landscape of tangley thorns and eyes that glow in the dark. Your phone says it's noon, but out here it's midnight under a starless sky. As you step into the dark, an alarm blares -- your phone is sending you an alert.

"Goal: clear the area of snakes," it says. "Remember to use the buddy system!"

Soon you realise that the ground just a few feet away is actually writhing in black snakes with crimson eyes. They'll bite if you approach alone, but as long as you're touching another passenger, they're totally docile. You could easily move them away from the clearing, or toss them into the spooky-looking pit at the edge of it.

You've been here awhile -- at least, long enough to have made some friends. Currently the TV in the public lounge is playing a weird puppet show, where all the puppets look and act like exaggerated versions of you and other passengers. What kind of person do the puppets think you are? Dramatic? Over-affectionate? Surly?It's all in good fun but it's definitely painting you in a light that, if not unpleasant, is certainly embarrassing.

One - Clover or Thyme [Normally one would not drink strange cups of tea in a strange environment but today is not normal and he's seated in the team main area partaking of tea while he scrolls his phone. If he's in the pink overalls and lisa frank unicorn t-shirt of Clover he may look quite a bit grumpier than if he's in the simple flowing fashion and feathered accessories of Thyme. So there's now a rather lowkey-looking girl wandering into the team main area, wearing a very simple Thyme outfit. Over she goes to what is apparently the only other person here.]

[the first thing Riko notices when she wakes up is that she’s in an unfamiliar place. this isn’t her room, and when she sits up and looks around, she takes in the moss and woodsy feel of it. it’s nice, but weird. looking at the... phone? that was on the dresser beside her doesn’t really answer many questions. all she knows now is that she is not in Uchiura...

she gets dressed in the clothes provided (they’re comfortable, matching the forest theme of the room) and decides to look around. upon discovering the tea downstairs, Riko is drawn to it. it looks very inviting, and she is a bit thirsty.

Riko takes up a cup and goes to sit down with it, taking a sip. ah, warmth! this soothes her a little...]

★ Two - SNAKES ON A TRAIN

[it’s been a few days, and Riko is getting used to her life on the Aurora. while she wants to go home, she also has been enjoying meeting new people. right now, though, the train has stopped, and Riko takes her Chain with her as she travels outside. probably a bad idea, because it’s super dark out here!

the alarm goes off, and she looks at her feet. then she shrieks at the sight of all the snakes. help her calm down, maybe?]

[There is a teenaged boy sitting down on one of the couches, drowning almost in a large golden sweater and lounge pants, staring at a cup of tea on the coffee table in front of him. He'd gone and taken a sip, and was now staring at it curiously, unsure of whether or not he had actually liked it.

Either way, despite the confusing circumstances in which he woke up, if he didn't think too hard he'd say he's pretty happy. Even if his current expression wasn't showing it. Maybe even emotionally open and warm, should someone else in this carriage happen across him.]

[ Ever since she woke up in her underwear and feeling a bit nauseous, Eli had been wondering if this is nothing but a well crafted dream her subconscious made up by itself, like an abstract fantasy VR game of sorts. Finding clothes was easy and she tosses them on despite the unusual style, still dizzy and lost like she's jet lagging big time.

Then she's downstairs, and spots a girl helping herself with tea. Their clothes somehow match, and heeding the advice from that message despite being wary of it, she comes up to make a friendly approach. She's so confused, feeling like there is something missing within her indeed, but bad impressions don't make for good progress in figuring out what the hell is going on. ]

[ Eli smiles, as friendly as she can muster in this bizzarre situation. ]

[the nausea was passing slowly the more Riko drank her tea. as she was approached by the other girl, she couldn’t help but feel like she’d seen her somewhere before... recently, even. Riko tilted her head, blinking up at her, before she realized the other had asked her a question]

[ Eli slides up to the chair next to the girl and pours herself a portion of the tea in another cup. The smell is already doing wonders to her conditions, but she doesn't know the half of it. In fact, once she takes a sip, it's like her health had been restored in full and a brighter smile graces her features as a result. Every ailment oppressing her is gone, and suddenly being next to the stranger feels pleasant too. What an abrupt shift in her mood - so strange... but she'll figure it out later. ]

This is quite possibly the most delicious tea I've ever had!

... alright 'waking up' isn't really a fair description of whatever's going on here. it appears as though this guy is still half-asleep as he sort-of just... slowly slinks out of bed, barely glancing at his phone before stumble-sliding towards the door. with his eyes closed. without even getting dressed. and he might not actually be making it to the door, but if he does he's not getting very far before slumping to the floor and going right back to sleep right in the middle of the hallway.

oh yeah probably should mention he has scales in patches all over his body, up along his arms and his neck the most. weir...d? is he a reptile of some kind? well whatever he is, he's probably in your way. ]
