Your character wakes up in a neat bedroom in their team carriage, in nondescript underwear. They might be missing their memories, or their special abilities, or they may just feel a little queasy. Next to them is what seems to be a smartphone, which they know how to use even if they never had before, even if they don't know if they have before. On the screen is a simple message:

Welcome aboard the Aurora!

You have been selected by the Star Prince as a potential hero, tasked with saving the universe from Malice. As a passenger I, your Construct and Conductor, will attempt to provide you with quality lodgings and safety. In return, we ask that you join your fellows in making bonds and doing your utmost to bring joy back to the Stars.

Due to the process of restoring your body, you may find some things are missing. We apologise for the inconvenience and hope to return them to you as soon as possible. Thank you for your cooperation.

Upon investigation, you'll find some basic clothes matching your team's theme in the storage provided in your room. Or, perhaps, you're wandering out of the room still undressed. Either way, downstairs you'll find someone has left a tray of cups of hot tea on the living room table. Drinking it may be simply pleasant, or it may cause you to feel a sudden need to warm up to the others in your carriage -- emotionally or physically. Welcome to the team, newbie!

Outside the train, a large, strangely spinning cube floats over a pedestal, hissing discordantly and shedding strange black light onto the surrounding area. Beyond lies only shadows and slithering noises, a landscape of tangley thorns and eyes that glow in the dark. Your phone says it's noon, but out here it's midnight under a starless sky. As you step into the dark, an alarm blares -- your phone is sending you an alert.

"Goal: clear the area of snakes," it says. "Remember to use the buddy system!"

Soon you realise that the ground just a few feet away is actually writhing in black snakes with crimson eyes. They'll bite if you approach alone, but as long as you're touching another passenger, they're totally docile. You could easily move them away from the clearing, or toss them into the spooky-looking pit at the edge of it.

You've been here awhile -- at least, long enough to have made some friends. Currently the TV in the public lounge is playing a weird puppet show, where all the puppets look and act like exaggerated versions of you and other passengers. What kind of person do the puppets think you are? Dramatic? Over-affectionate? Surly?It's all in good fun but it's definitely painting you in a light that, if not unpleasant, is certainly embarrassing.

[Normally one would not drink strange cups of tea in a strange environment but today is not normal and he's seated in the team main area partaking of tea while he scrolls his phone. If he's in the pink overalls and lisa frank unicorn t-shirt of Clover he may look quite a bit grumpier than if he's in the simple flowing fashion and feathered accessories of Thyme.

Still the tea is soothing!]

[The good thing about not having your memories anymore: you don't remember all the bad things that happened. The bad thing about not having your memories anymore: you don't remember...anything.

So there's now a rather lowkey-looking girl wandering into the team main area, wearing a very simple Thyme outfit. Over she goes to what is apparently the only other person here.]

Uh, hi.

[This is a thing that's happening. She may as well roll with it; she's got no reason not to.]

[He's looking up the moment he senses someone else moving around, but she looks... Well not that assuming and certainly more lost than even he feels. What he can gather from his phone investigation is that likely she's as much a weird prisoner of this place as himself.]

Hmph.

[That's not his only greeting he's just leaning back to size her up.]

Hello. I take it you've just woken as well.

[She's really not that assuming at all. She looked kind of confident (or at least comfortable) so long as she didn't sense anyone looking at her, but the moment she picked up on that - Well. Not so much.]

[Awkward person is kinda awkward.]

[Two awkward people enter a room...

Jusis just kind of frowns faintly because he's not into picking on soft people and sets down his tea.]

Yes. You might as well sit down and try to process it.

She nods and goes along with it, sitting down nearby. That's...some kind of drink, and she's probably thirsty. She's not sure about it, but the other person is drinking it, so she may as well take a cup and do the same.]

[She's pretty sure that's what you say in these situations.]

Don't thank me. I'm in roughly the same boat you are. It would be foolish to be antagonistic.

[after a long pause:] I don't remember that.

[She looks at her hands after putting the teacup back down.]

[ Look, he understand why he'd be glaring murder. The situation is already unpleasant as is, but there's an added layer of ridiculousness given their uniforms. It's doubly ridiculous for a grown man like him, but unlike him, this guy seems a lot more grumpy in general. So shit mood? He can get that ]

Not a fan of snakes, I'm guessing.

[Okay time to glare murder at--oh yeah it's another guy in stupid pink maybe he'll be a little less hostile just out of sheer sympathy.]

Not a fan of any of this. You can't say this appeals to you on any level, can you?

[Why this. But whatever he's not actually as standoffish as he makes out, holding his hand out for Peter decisively.]

[ At the very least he's going to offer him a smile at that, and once he takes his hand, he actually squeezes it - just a bit - to try and be Comforting and Supportive Like a Good Adult. ]

Okay, before we get down to it — are you actually afraid of them or anything? Because I don't really mind being the sacrificial lamb, here, and just take care of touching all the snakes.

[ a pause at that ]

Okay, the way I worded it is probably not helping with the whole "are you into snakes" doubt, but I promise I'm not as weird as I sound.

[He's walking forward and actually surprised that the snakes are no longer looking all bitey and attacky. Still. Pretty wary though.]

[ gives his hand a squeeze, and then very quickly gives him a smile, kind of shy, at odds with how confident he was a moment ago ]

[ without waiting for an answer he ducks down and grabs a snake ]

[ambles over all casually, dressed just as pink and looking an absolute mess of a man.]

Oh, tea! Well, that's nice of them.

[Do you even know what a hair brush is.]

[Not a voice he was expecting at all, and it nearly makes him jump, which is uncool. He turns quickly though, staring openly.]

[Like there is absolutely nothing scary going on and also nothing that should keep him from talking to Jusis totally normally--]

[this guy in Ginger colors is also glaring at snakes, but he turns to give Jusis an assessing look]
